One of the best strategies I've done one time is that I got a Raveshaw and all of the Humvees, tanks, and especialy miners that came by I jumped out shot and jumped back before they could fire. It works very well(except when godd*** snipers are tryin to pic your ass off. I got a total of over 25 vehicles destroyed and stopped 4 rushes in one game.

Killing is my Business and boy is business good!
