I had a similar problem but it was with my graphic driver. Picture this: A 1024 * 768 display monitor trying to display a resolution of 320 * 240. (And that's without the full screen being taken up) Thank god for safe mode. You couldn't even navigate desktop properties, or get down to the programs stuff in add/remove programs.
