You mean try it out without a server or anything? Yeah just go to

Multiplayer LAN
Host Game
Make the number of players 1
Dedicated should not be checked
Choose your maps
I would say to set your credits to 9999 or something so you can get a vehicle to browse the map with.

If it says GAMEPLAY PENDING then go back and uncheck dedicated server.
