Make sure you check it ok, you never need to install software for your router because it shouldnt be hooked to the PC, the router sohuld be hooked to the modem which doesnt use any software at all for PC's, i'm thinking you didnt hook it up right since you get a signal, but no actual data being transfered such as connecting to a website, read the instructions, tech support never helps.
