A better idea would be to have some warning message for when you try to post in a topic over 2 or 3 months. Old topics are usually only revived because the poster didn't realise it was so old.

Something like "This topic is 3 months old. Are you sure you want to post?" would probably solve the problem.

Auto lock equals gay.
