im 99% sure i have the right scripts.dll

and er... i have an nvidia Geforce IV Ti4200 (AMD 2000 XP+,512 m ram)

I have the same card and processor, but you have double my RAM. With my computer I never have any trouble running Renegade. If it isn't the scripts, then maybe you could try new drivers or if it comes to it reinstalling Renegade.
