Well i got a digital camera and i wanted to see if i could make a grass texture..i went outside and took a image of our lawn and made a texture out of it..i already made it so it can tile but i cant upload TGA files so whoever wants to use it has to make it tga.

That looks quite good.
But to make it a little better you could load that onto Photoshop and lighten up those dark patches a little, so when it repeats in a map, it won't be so obvious that it is repeating.

What resolution is the TGA file?

Lol Aprime the picture was taking recently so all my grass is brown i had to color it my self.. i guess thats why it looks a bit strange.

The first thing that comes to mind when I see it is the grass texture used in Halo. (Specifically, on Blood Gultch)

Probably just because the blades of grass are easily recognizable, as opposed to those in Renegade.

find other surfaces to convert into textures. roads, sidewalks, driveways, sand, dirt, mud, gravel, anything else
