Stunned and speechless!!!!
Jonwil: I can imagine this must be so cool for you to look through after spending years trying to hack your way to various functions with memory references  Now you get to see them for real! A bit like opening a black box.
Short term... I foresee this leading to cheats.
Long term, this will keep Renegade alive. It's essentially going to be scripts.dll to the exetreme as anything is now possible! All restrictions are lifted! I just hope we as a community agree on having a single client that we use!

Hearing the news made me think back to all my time playing Renegade and hanging out on the n00bstories IRC and forums here. The nostalgia was powerful enough to make me want to come find this place and make a post. Don't have the email for my old account here anymore though alas.
I'm wondering what the source code finally being released might lead to. Maybe there will be bit of a revival for Renegade because of it. At least I hope so.
All the time I played this and other C&C games when I was younger will stay with me for life. I miss it and a lot of the people I used to regularly play and chat with, thanks for the great times everyone!
