Couldn't seem to find anything by searching so will make a new topic.

I have my first decade CD, but my new Laptop has no CD drive. Is there a way to install Renegade via a download using my CD key? I don't want to download anything that may be malicious either.

Look for rackz's post. Click the first link. It's an ISO file and it will download the game in its entirety. Look for the setup file. I did this two weeks ago because something went wrong wrong with either my disk drive or my TFD CD.

Ok thanks I downloaded the ISO, but when I install it I get a step file error at 99% asking me to insert the cd. Any help?

I'm not sure what could be the problem. It shouldn't have to do with your lack of a CD drive. Are you running as admin? What steps did you complete?

When I did this, the ISO downloaded and I found the setup file in the newly downloaded game folder, which I found under the C drive. You may have to make a new account on RenCorner if we can't get to the bottom of this here.

What are your laptop's specs?

That was one thing I thought of but thought it wouldn't work for some reason. I don't have any practice mounting CDs either. To play I just needed to click the ISO and it downloaded easily.

iirc windows7+ auto does it or you dont need software to mount iso's

apparently this link still works, I used to use the GameCD.iso and mount it with Virtual CloneDrive and install Renegade that way every time. don't know if I ever tried it on Windows 10 though.
