Hey, I am making my own website, http://samous.webs.com and would like to put a link to your site. Sense I don't see any banners or logos I could use that are specific to this site, I thought I should make one. The image bellow is what I have so far, what do you guys think? Good/Bad? Even if you guys say it is good, could I use it as a link to this site? Would that be allowed?

Tips and Suggestions Welcome.

EDIT: Image has transparency enabled, anywhere its black, it is actually transparent. If you see a bunch of grey around the image, then your browser does not support (Alpha channels?) transparency.

No offense intended but it looks like you have learned how to duplicate, rotate, and feather a selection and press the delete key. And have done it a few times. (including your signature)

Don't get me wrong, the "reflection technique" is and can be effective, but it's over done. Try to be a bit more creative.

Like? And BTW: Sig and the word Forum was made by a program, not Photoshop. Also, thats not feather, its shadow.

EDIT: I don't know what to do... there aren't verry many images specific to this forum...

Like? I'm not sure...as I'm not creating it.
Try not using the forum header maybe? As that itself is very dated. Build something simple, using different renders or maybe none and just text? As i said, i don't know. Be creative - that's up to you.

Creativity is not something I'm verry good at, nor am I an expert at making logos. My own website logo (new one, not uploaded yet) isn't even that good, but it is better than the one I have uploaded here. I have no real images I can use for this site, except the header, and basic 3d (or 2d) text is... boring. -yes, I consider my sig boring.

I said I wasn't good at making logo, websites I can handle. My current one is WAYYYYYY out of date, from back when I was first learn the html, thats why it sucks so bad, but the new one I'm working on now, its awsome -compared at least.

Thanks for the tut, but still, I need ideas for what to use...

The first one is pretty decent. I don't think it really needs to be fancy since these forums, or the original logo, aren't fancy at all. Simplicity is sometimes the best way to go Thumbs Up

Good to see you again Samous.
Both are excellent but there is something to be mentioned.

Both images have logos from C&C 3. Also the C&C 3 Orca is in the first imgae and Renegade-X flamer is in the second one.

These are things from different games and not C&C Renegade(the original, since Renegade X has its own webiste and forum).

Maybe replace the C&C 3 Orca with Renegade Orca.

Also its hard to see "Forum" in the second image.

I have tried and failed to get the FORUM from the second img more visible, and for the first img, I don't have any good quality images of an orca or flame tank so I used renders of ones out on Google image search. There is an orca and a flame tank in renegade, so its not completely inaccurate. Also, the GDI + NOD images I applied outer glow and inner shadow on to make them look better, but yes, I think they might be from CNC 3, does it matter?
