		| Imdgr8one | Alright, I was playing some YR, and all of a sudden I hear my computer make this "berverttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt" claddery noise. I was wondering is this the true sound of my hard drives death.

Really, only YOU, the user of the computer, can know your hard drive sounds. Using it everyday, you should know the different noises your hard drive makes--what is normal and such, etc. You should know if something is wrong because you hear a noise that you've never heard before, but if you're still not sure a quick search on google about hard drive noises should yield an site on IBM about hard drive noises.

And you should also know that on my computer, the CD drive is usually the culprit behind the noise, since it vibrates so much the cover rattles, so you should make sure of the source of the disturbance.

And what DrasticDr was talking about, I had the exact same problem. Cause? The fan. Solution? A powerful vacuum blowing out the dust on the fan and its heatsink.

		| DrasticDR | I have a similar problem. When I boot up the computer it makes a loud "Wherrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" noise. Once the computer has been on for 10mins it stops. My brothers is doing the same. Sometimes I fix it by kicking my tower but that could lead to bigger problems.

YEa thats your fan, it did it on my old CPU - just give it a good smack in the fan cover and it should stop =)

In the end it doesn't matter if you are who you say you are. You will still mean nothing to me.

When i have kids, everytime i drive past a fast food restaurant, im gonna punch my kid in the face, then they'll never wanna come..
