Hello, my name is Mark Skaggs and welcome to Command and Conquer: Renegade! We at EA have been carefully reading these message boards and have decided to make a final patch to the game. Included in this patch will be major bug fixes and 3 new maps. These maps will revolutionize the gaming community as you and I know it. One map, Volcano Flying, will support the new tank supplier feature. Also, there will be several balance issues addressed such as grenades doing more damage but having a shorter range. More to come!

If Mark Skaggs is in Rochester, NY, then it would be true... but I know nothing of this... in fact I've heard something else entirely from a pretty reliable source. I'm pretty leery, but if this is really Mark Skaggs, please contact me off-forums to confirm.

I don't think this is a hoax due to the officialness of the post, most people who have hoaxes sound like dumbasses and its obvious, also, ive seen a couple people brought up a possible patch in other forums, but everyone just flamed them

Of course I'd like to hope that it's real, but there is a large chance that it is not.
Although Mark Skaggs did have connections to Westwood, he was working on Generals at EAP during most of Renegade's development.
The mentioning of a "Tank Supplier" feature is what throws me off...I can see EA fixing bugs, and possibly even EA adding ramps and aircraft to already existing maps, but completely new features seem too far out to be implemented by a company which hasn't really looked at the game in such a long time...
However, we'll see, I guess.

I agree. If this is a hoax, what kind of lamer would do something like this? Do they have nothing better to do?
