I'd rather take a train than take a plane.
If given the choice, I'd rather just drive. Airports are too much of a hassle to be worth flying unless I'm pressed for time and have to go a long ways or if there's no other way to get where I'm going. I prefer spending 20 or so hours driving to...
spending an hour getting to the nearest airport, then waiting 2 hours in the airport getting reamed by TSA (folks working off a checklist instead of training) in order to spend 3 hours on a plane, with hundreds of people I don't know squeezed in like sardines... only to get off at the other end wondering if my baggage is going to be in the same place I am, spend an hour just getting out of the airport, then another hour getting home again. That's 8 hours at least, assuming that the flight doesn't hit any delays whilst on the ground or in the air- it could easily be as much as 10. Personally, I'd rather take twice as long to get where I'm going and be in control of my means of getting me and my stuff where I'm going, not have the hassle of security, and not have to change what I wear and how I act just to keep from getting "random" screened every freaking time.
Flying ain't worth it. We've got plenty of security measures and technology to make things safe, but as long as the people operating the equipment don't know what they're doing...

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.
