I have a really slow computer, and I was wondering if there are any tweaks I can do to the game to make it run faster.

I cannot play in a server with 30+ people cause I lag too much. My FPS is between 1-5. So I have to resort to playing on servers with 10 or less people.

Open up WWConfig. Click on Video. Set your resolution to 640x480.

Make sure everything else is down as well.

I recall there being a topic way back which mentioned of a registry key that you can use to set texture resolution* to lower than what the game settings allow. I think I tried it and got max FPS, but I don't know if it works online.

*I think it was texture resolution, but it could've been something else.

There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.

how do i access these files???
cause my fps is around 15-30.
i tried all of the things like run windows mode and it only gives me an extra 5-8

Actually, A 4 mb videocard wont run the setup. An 8 will though.
I've installed Renegade on 2 laptops that had 8 megvideo cards.

Maybe a bit late but anyhoo, i was playing around with the registry vales and i think i might have given you some extra FPS..

Ok dont have texture res that high you dont gain any fps and it just looks very unplayable, change it to about 3 or 4, then change the Texture fill mode to match the texture res... most importantly change the shadow mode to something like 16-25, atm mine is at 1 which allows me to see the shadows more clearly.

You should see more improvement to as prevs posted.

Windowed mode does not affect the FPS. If it does, it's because it disables vertical sync automatically, so therefore, your FPS goes higher than your refresh rate. You can turn off vertical sync without using windowed mode by going into your advanced video settings.
