Found this and don't know if I'm the only one:

Had AOL open (and connected) and decided to play some Renegade, since I was waiting for a response to an IM, I left AOL open (don't ask why I don't have AIM). I connected to RG okay (or atleast thats what the message said). After I joined the server (N00bstories AOW), I got the you should DL RG popup. After relogging out and shutting AOL the problem vanished. I tried to recreate it and it works all the time, on my machine when AOL is open RG doesn't connect (or at least doesn't acknowledge I conencted) but I can join games... Any one heard of this before

System:

Compaq 5100/P4
Win XP SP1
Radeon 9200 128 MB
AOL 9.0 (SE)
Firewall is configured for proper access, and no trohjans/virus or recent installs/unistalls

I've had AOL for years. I never installed it in any of my recent computers, it's so bad.

My dad still has it on his computer. It's causes all sorts of shit. AOL would even fuck shit up when connecting via TCP/IP.

My advice to you: uninstall AOL.
