Nick over at Middle-Earth Vault is reporting that German gaming magazine GameStar has run a preview of Battle for Middle-Earth 2. Apparently, the sequel will cover a part of the Lord of the Rings story only mentioned in passing in the books: the war in the North, where Sauron's forces besiege the Dwarves and the Elves.

Have a look at the pics on HdR-Inside and be sure to read the summary of the news at MEV.

Hmmm. Dwarves, Elves, Humans, Evil things. Spider-men. Buildings placed anywhere. Customizable heroes. Gee, this certainly looks nothing like a game from three years ago.

Only if they make the game suck. If it doesnt suck, I won't complain. Not that difficult of a concept. Fact is, BFME sucked. I got bored with it quicker than I did a Mod for Renegade. So congrats and good luck EA, on making Suck2.

Hey, gbull? Remember Generals? Remember that, huh? EA Games made Generals and stuck the "Command & Conquer" name on it because they thought it'd be funny. Do you really want to see something like Generals happen to "Command & Conquer: Tiberian Twilight" or "Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3"? No. . . If EA is going to make another Command & Conquer game, it'll probably be "Generals II". At least, if they're smart and don't want to encur the wrath of a bunch of angry Westwood Studios fans with nothing better to do.

EA sucks, though, I like Generals. BUT, EA will probobly never pull through in the CNC Universe. I have been following the news about the so called "project" for "Red Alert 3" at cncgames.com. I don't think EA is going to do anything.

The sensible sequel to Red Alert, is Command & Conquer 1: Tiberian Dawn.

There is no way you could make a sensible sequel to Red Alert 2, since RA2 itself wasn't sensible.
