Awhile back I remember there being a topic on which is better. I have been thinking of getting FireOx...BUT some people I have talked to told me to get opera. I have heard that Opera increases download speeds, but FireOx is faster surfing the web. So what would be the better choice?

At least support your position that Firefuck is better than Opera... Saying "<" as if it were some kind of mathematical equation makes you look as stupid as you appear to be. Use facts, not opinions.

Demo doesn't know what he's going on about, because all the extensions you have in Firefox have to be added to get functionality like Opera already has upon installation.

I agree with ack there. Opera is the best. Read the tests on the Internet. It's not because a program is famous that it is the best...

It would appear, according to tests, the Opera is the faster browser in terms of app load times, page load times. But, you have to consider that Firefox can be tweaked to load faster, plus the MASSIVE amount of Extensions available for FireFox make it far superior to ANY other browser. Also, Firefox is AD-FREE and free to use. I've never had a single problem with Firefox, and all the extensions install automatically without having to download anything, then run it (you just click the installer link and it takes over from there).

Why should you have to install loads of plugins, tweak the program for higher speeds, and do a bunch of other inane tasks because the program comes out inferior? Opera already browses the Internet in the best way possible without having to install a bunch of plugins and "extensions", which makes it easier for people to use while reducing headaches and search times that could be spent doing something productive.

I say you should just get IE and a Pop-Up Blocker. Its not as "talented" as the others, but its worked fine for me for years.

Also it keeps all those pages in one(you know what I mean...) page so you don't have Firefox20^ or any of that

good lord it takes all of 3 seconds to download any plugin you need. and the only ones ive really ever needed were the Flash 7 player and Shockwave.

Opera has problem viewing certain pages doesnt it? I thought I remembered hearing one time that different browsers view pages horizontally and vertically different from others. Never used Opera so I don't really know much about it.

No, you don't have to. Glyde is not the most reliable or intelligent person in here (More to the point he's dumb as hell) so he's doing that thing where he writes without backing up his posts with any facts.

So lets see here...

1. Opera is not software you have to pay for. It is completely free, but to remove the small advertisement banner (No bigger than 140x35 or so) requires you to purchase it. There is no functionality difference between the free and paid versions other than the advertisement banner (which is completely customizable to what you want to see), so it doesn't matter if you buy it or not.

2. Again, you shouldn't have to download "extensions" to get the features of a program like Opera. What Opera has should be standard on all browsers including Internet Explorer.

3. All non-Internet Explorer browsers have trouble displaying certain pages. It's not just an Opera issue.
