well..thats what it says when i try to join some servers..like2/3 of the WOL Sservers say that..well....it started happening this morning..idk why..i've already..

- REINSTALLED
- REBOOTED
- LOGGED OF/IN
- DOWNLAODED RENGAURD
- DOWNLAODED CORE PATCH 1

anyone??

Uhhh, I don't think I know of anything to fix this, but a quick temporary fix is to re-open Renegade.

try removing any vehicle models or building models you may have installed

when you uninstall you should delete the folder left behind which contains the maps and skins and shit

C:\Westwood\Renegade\
folder to delete

I'm no expert!!! However, I personally would try to reinstall the patch. You should download the Renegade_v1.037_English patch to a folder on your desktop for future use. I have un installed and reinstalled renegade several times in the last 2 months trying to get the new scripts and rengaurd to work properly. It is nice to install the patch without downloading it every time. If that doesn't work then I would do the good time fun uninstall reinstall. game/patch_v1.037_English/rengaurd/cp1

I am talking to HELP MEE, the version mismatch is what will come up once you've been busted by the new exploit patch. This may not be the case though, I would re-install Renegade, reboot, patch, reboot, core patch, reboot, and then try to join a server.

yea ill try that..maybe becasue i didnt reboot..idk..and as for hacking ppls names...even if i did it..it should say "version mismatch" for my ip, and my ip already changed, so it should say it, unless it reads your serial number Surprised

You are right, it reads your IP.

I find rebooting important because I once had this same problem. It was many hours of agony trying to re-install everything in the correct order.

The way I have always fixed version mismatch, is by this:
Shut down ren
Turn off anti-virus and internet security
Start ren and join a server
Turn AV and IS back on

Has always worked for me
