this does rather depend upon your opponent being either AFK, blind, or out of ammo.

Anyway.
Your enemy will most likely kill you before you get to point blank range unless you are in a small space like the AGT or Obelisk. Theres also no way to know when the best time to blow the C4 is. Unless of course you have really good communication.

Actually, snipers often crouch and use their scope. If you want you can throw your timed C4 on them and they will have a tough time getting it off.

it does work just walk up behind the person. but my idea is better load up a buggy or humvee and get to your target easier 
killing is good....only if u aint killing me

This method works more often than not, and is VERY FUN! Forget about the people whining "boohoo it's a waste of mines" because it isn't, it's an absolutely brilliant use for them.
Also if there's no risk that the enemy'll sneak in to your base, you can even buy an APC, throw loads of proxy C4 on the front then go ram into some enemy vehicle/person. kaboom!

A popular strategy that works is to put 4 or 5 proxy C4 onto an SBH at a different altitude and position than the intended target.
Result? Mysterious explosions that suddenly happen, best used against groups of enemy snipers or even a humvee sitting there. Not to mention there's a laser rifle right there to finish the job if need be.

Indeed!! i did this in a server(it was mesa ,i belive..),got a gren,and so did AlkovRox(EatMyCar7),and a hottie put proxy C4 on us. the PP was down in the Nod base,and just the ob was left. we rushed the ob,killed the techy inside cause one of us 'bumped' him. and we blew the MCT. game over,GDI wins.

Why are people discussing jihads like 2-3 years after they were first used? This is mega old news.
(1) Loading up a bunch of prox on a sbh just to watch him sneak up on someone and get a cheap kill is pretty n00b if you ask me. Funny, yes ... to be used as a tactic, no.
(2) I've seen people throw 2 timed c4's on the front of an apc and ram a vehicle -- blowing it up. That is more of a tactic than sbh jihads.
(3) Iron Fart ... do you still play? GSA or WOL? I never see you on anymore.
