	| I'm thinking about getting one, are there any drawbacks to this card, apart from the 300 watts required to run it? |

	| the only thing i can think of is it's not shader3.0(can't remeber) compliant. In other words not totaly hardware DX9 compliant . It in fact uses less power than the nvidia one though plus it should be little cheaper.

right now I have an athlon XP 2600+ and a gig of ram. I have a new motherboard with a pentium 4 3.2ghz processor and 1 gig of ram DDR, I've just been a little lazy to install it, plus the lack of spare time... I'll probably get myself to install it next sunday afternoon or something
... I currently have a radeon 9800 pro 128 mb but that just doesn't cut it for me, i want more! [Updated on: Mon, 09 August 2004 15:13] Report message to a moderator |

	| Your pc is bitchin' ~ no need for that high end a card unless you want are 1337 graphix on Doom or something. Hell, a 128mb 9200 SE can cut it at a decent framerate. |

	| FarCry is an unoptimized piece of shit. Judge your computer on how well it runs Doom 3 and Half-Life 2.

	| Get a X800 pro VIVO card. Its the same card has the XT PE. ALl you need to do is download the gigabyte bios and flash it. Violla its now a X800 XT card.
For 450 its the best card for the money.

	| Yeah, I bought the X800pro for my wife & in Renegade for example, she is running highest resolution settings & gets frame rates of no lower than 85 & many times as high as 190. Can't wait for HalfLife2... BTW, we bought FarCry a few weeks ago just to see what it would look like, but we've been playing to much of the ol' Renegade to even get around to installing it LOL

Except it doesn't work on all cards, and it still doesn't give you the extra texture pipelines that the XT has.

	| | mrpirate | | You can always buy an X800 Pro and try to mod it to an XT. It's similar to the pencil mod that worked on the Athlons.

 |

That's extremly bright... buy a $450 video card to fry it in no time if you screw up.
Not to mention vioding any warranty it may have had.

	| | PiMuRho | | Given that I can XT PEs for less than a Pro, I'll stick with the XT, thanks.

 |

where can you get this? cheapest XT PE I have seen is in the 550 range.
I got my x800 pro VIVO for 442 SHipped 3 weeks ago, its not a xt pe with vivo abilities.
