For some reason, I cant make a topic in the general discussion forums...anyway, Im having difficulty disabling my onboard vid card...I have a HP pavillion (XE734) and I tried this http://www.hp.com/cposupport/personal_computing/support_doc/bph06273.html and it didnt help shìt. I run performance ****yzer on renegade and it says in 352\% efficient. Just renegade is giving me problems. IT LAGS LIKE HELL! I gotta disable that oboard card asap. when i go into setup (F1 during start up) I try and disable the on board, all I get is 512K and 1M, no disable. Anyone with a decent brain, can you help me?

thx d00d....anyway, my discovery...is..as...as...as...follows.(Mimicing my geforce2 and on-board video running in renegade together).
| Quote: | Originally posted by ThunderChicken: W00TAGE!!! I know how to fix it now. I was talking with my dad on he phone and he said that we have to switch on the jumpers on the motherboard. Then I can disable the on-board in BIOS. If anyone is having a similar problem, refer to this. [/QB]

Never mind this last comment, I tried to change the jumpers on the mother board. I found the settings I need to be able to disable the on-board i810. When I looked inside, I looked where they were supposed to be and my dad saw that the pins were removed. It seems Hewlett Packard removed hem to prevent us "Customers" from upgrading our comps. | Quote: | There are no jumper blocks to set on this motherboard . Intel Socket 370 Celeron processors have locked frequency multiples and use an external frequency of 66 MHz.
| Thats a quote directly from http://www.hp.com/cposupport/personal_computing/support_doc/bph07170.html ...I personally think hey removed it so that you have to pay another $1000.00 to get another comp . It's a money thing . Pls, save yourself some trouble, DO NOT get a Hewlett Packard Pavillion XE734 (and maybe read up on the computer before you buy). Just learn how to build a comp on your own, You save a lot of money that way.

Im more relieved then mad. I hate getting tickled, prodded or dragged by my sis to get off the comp. After I get my own comp, I won't get tickled, prodded or dragged away from MY comp. So far I have... -GeForce2 -Moniter -190 MB Ram -10 GB Hard drive (plenty for 1 person) -and possibly obtical mouse (MAYBE, I may get my dads opt mouse...if its compatible) And the rest of the stuff...shouldn't be too much(getting the rest of my stoof of my Aunt's BF).
