Most people with the actual skill and knowledge to mod well would rather actually play the game than have to deal with retarded shit when they are trying to have fun. There are exceptions of course.

More often than not though, someone that wants to be a moderator nowadays wants the power trip that comes with it, rather than the ability to make the games better for all that it once held.

Bad mods can ruin servers, and it doesn't make them bad people, just bad at mod'in.

Before anyone gets offended I'm not referring to all, just quite a few Wink

. I'm not gonna rattle off a bunch of names as I have neither the time nor patience for the flame war that would ensue.

If your bad a making mods that doesn't mean that you shouldn't, however you should spend hours testing them, even in ways that seem un related. Because even the smallest flaw can cause the server to crash multiple times in one day. In addition, if you don't enjoy it while you test it, perhaps you should scrap it.
