scripts 3.4.4 problem [message #337399]

I currently have scripts 2.9 and anytime I try to run 3.4.4 so it will install, the installation runs fine and it appears like it has worked, but then when I check I am told im still running 2.9, i've tried running them again and same situation occurs.
