Renguard not recognised. [message #258592]

I've tried multiple clean installs of
renegade->patch->nocd->renguard
renegade->patch->renguard->cp2

All installs fine with no errors - game will run fine in single player and logs onto mp games fine.

Then server recognises that renguard is not running (it is) and i get kicked.

The game 2 exe file is created successfully and the game is being launched through the renguard launcher.

This is happening on winxp sp2.

Any idea's ? I miss my renegade.
