Flyingfox, your CPU isn't necessarily at that bad temps, depends what
processor you use. The Pentium CPU's are usually at lower temps than Athlons. For example my Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton) used to run at 75C under load with the defaul fan, just like my neigbours's one, without any crashing/symptoms. (Bought a new fan after the old loosesned and got noisy, now at 55C idle). Three other friends I know that have AMD processors have idle temperatures at around 60C. Some CPU's are known to have been fully operational even at almost 100C. Of course there's some variety between processors, only way to tell what yours can handle is to test.

Processors are supposed to be hot, they calculate craploads of stuff all the time. Many PC modders want to get their CPU temperatures as low as possible, going all the way down to 20C, but that's not necessary. Sure, the CPU lifespan is longer when the CPU is cool, but if it goes from 6 years to 5 years, does it really matter? In 5 years you can get that same CPU with 10 bucks or so, and you've probably dumped it already anyway.

Here's a link to CPU "hazard temps":

Just ranting a little here, I'm sick of people who go like "Omg my Processor is at 50 Celsius!!1 it's guna burn what can I doo!?!?"

Edit: ALSO NOTE, that P4 processors SLOW DOWN when they overheat to avoid damage, so you don't need to worry about them that much. If your PC seems to get slow with a P4, check your temperatures, if it's abnormally high the CPU isn't working at full speed. I read a review from Mikrobitti PC magazine (mikrobitti.fi, finnish) where they removed the entire P4 CPU fan. The CPU didn't get damaged, but due to low CPU speed the PC was nearly inoperable.

There's a hole in the sky through which things can fly.
