I was tampering with a bunch of Photoshop effects, trying to see what I could do, and I stumbled along this:

Cool? Idk if it is a worthy mod, but if you like it, you can download it at Samous Ind. File Base here(RAR), or CNC Renegade forums(ZIP) bellow.

Install my adding the two .dds files to your renegade data directory.

Heya,

Theres a bug in the Combat Refils section of SSGM (This also seems to effect Reborns CombatRefil plugin too) whereby when you refil, it takes a few seconds for your health to go back to its previous position. If you get damaged during this "1 second window" then the refil stays. So if your against someone with a tib auto rifle or something and you still have the tiberium poisoning on you, you have sucessfully refil.

Ive also included a freshly compiled SSGM with this change for those interested in this fix Smile

Change:

//This script is attached to all players if combat refills are disabled.
void MDB_SSGM_Block_Refill::Created(GameObject *obj) {
	currhealth = Commands->Get_Health(obj);
	currshield = Commands->Get_Shield_Strength(obj);
	Commands->Start_Timer(obj,this,0.5f,1);
	LastDamage = The_Game()->GameDuration_Seconds;
}

void MDB_SSGM_Block_Refill::Damaged(GameObject *obj, GameObject *damager, float damage) {
	currhealth = Commands->Get_Health(obj);
	currshield = Commands->Get_Shield_Strength(obj);
	if (damage > 0.0) LastDamage = The_Game()->GameDuration_Seconds;
}

void MDB_SSGM_Block_Refill::Timer_Expired(GameObject *obj, int number) {
	if (Commands->Get_Health(obj) > currhealth || Commands->Get_Shield_Strength(obj) > currshield) {
		if (Get_Int_Parameter("All") == 1) {
			Commands->Set_Health(obj,currhealth);
			Commands->Set_Shield_Strength(obj,currshield);
		}
		else if (Get_Int_Parameter("All") == 0 && (The_Game()->GameDuration_Seconds - LastDamage) <= Settings->RefillTime) {
			Commands->Set_Health(obj,currhealth);
			Commands->Set_Shield_Strength(obj,currshield);
		}
	}
	Commands->Start_Timer(obj,this,0.5f,1);
}

To:

//This script is attached to all players if combat refills are disabled.
void MDB_SSGM_Block_Refill::Created(GameObject *obj) {
	currhealth = Commands->Get_Health(obj);
	currshield = Commands->Get_Shield_Strength(obj);
	Commands->Start_Timer(obj,this,0.01f,1);
	LastDamage = The_Game()->GameDuration_Seconds;
}

I know this is a very very small change but hopefully it should help some people out Very Happy

This is a plug-in designed to work with SSGM2.02 for cnc_renegade.
It was written by reborn from MP-Gaming.COM (fm_reborn@hotmail.com).

This is the first release version and probably has some bugs in it, with feedback I will fix bugs found.

This plug-in allows the server owner to stop players refilling if they have recently been damaged from another player's character.
Please note that it only stops players refilling there character if they've been damaged by another players character. Vehicle damage, falling damage
and other damage like running on tiberian etc etc do not count towards infantry combat, and therefore they can still refill.
This plug-in comes with a .ini file that allos the server owner to configure how long they wish a player to have to wait before refilling is allowed again.
Please note that it only resets there health, it does not block the refilling of there weapons ammunition.
There is a setting already to block refills in SSGM.ini. The setting is this:
BlockCombatRefills=
RefillTime=
However, this is slightly flawed. Whilst it does actually block refills, it doesn't stop people "purchasing" free characters. This code doesn't actually
stop them from purchasing the free characters either, but it does reset there health back to what it was.
Because of this setting in SSGM there is a conflict with this plug-in if you use them both. If you wish to use this plug-in then you must not try to use
the one built into SSGM, just leave those settings blank.
This is the clostest I have seen to actually being able to stop combat refills, however people can always wait out the timer. This is why the timer is configurable.

I don't run a renegade server, I have no real use for this plug-in and have made it for the sole reason to help other server owners.
If you use this plug-in and modify it or if you see a problem, either tell me, or preferably submit code. Don't be selfish, release the source code.
I believe it is only with this attitude that Renegade will continue to keep it's diminishing player base.
I cannot stress this enough. People all to often sit on there work and it benefits no-one but themselves. If you truely love this game, then you'll help save it.

To use this plug-in, refer to SSGM.ini in your SSGM2.02 server folder.
You'll need to add the .dll to the server folder, and make an entry in the [Plugins] section, mine looks like this:

[Plugins]
01=combatrefill.dll
You will also need to add the CombatRefill.ini file to your server folder.

I urge you visit my forums and my site @ MP-Gaming.COM. I would also like to direct you to Black-Cell.NET. There is a history of this game there that
most people are oblivious to, and without Black-Cell, none of the feature rich servers we have today would be here. They also have a renegade server
back up and running. Be sure to find it in the WOL server listings and join. It's hella fun.

The old release topics from the mod forum have now all been moved to the mod release forum. Well, that is: all the ones that were in the first 80 pages of the mod forum as we didn't got back further. Thanks to Di3HardNL, ErroR, SSnipe, Cabal8616 and all the others (sorry if I forgot your names) that have helped me with this giant job Smile. Wouldn't have been possible without you guys!

If you'd still find some release topics in the mod forum, then use the report function Smile.

Here you can find the answers on frequently asked questions.

- I have downloaded something which is packed in some kind of .RAR or .ZIP file, but how do I extract the files out of it so I can use them in Renegade?

Get winrar for free to extract the files. Download winrar here.
http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar380.exe
After you have installed winrar, simply RIGHT-click on the downloaded .RAR or .ZIP and select 'unpack files' then select any directory to extract the files to.

- Now that I have my files extracted how can I get them to work with Renegade?

Most of the time, you can simply select all of the files and copy them into your Renegade DATA folder. In most cases the default path to this directory is:
C:\Westwood\Renegade\Data
or if you have The First Decade (tm):
C:\Program Files\EA Games\Command & Conquer The First Decade\Command & Conquer Renegade(tm)\Renegade\Data
There may also be a "readme.txt" included with the release. Please read it for special install instructions for that release.

- Am I allowed to post any of the releases which I have found in this forum into other forums or websites?

Yes, as long as the author of the release gives you permission to it. You can contact the author via Personal Messaging.

- My file attachment is larger then 16384 KB (16 MB) where should I upload it?

I would suggest http://www.filefront.com/ You can make your own profile there, and then by uploading files you have some kind of your own downloadpage since all your uploads are in one big list.

When you post a new topic here, it will need to be approved by a moderator.

Some things to think about:
* Only post releases of Renegade related modifications here
* Add a category between "[ ]" in the title. Example: [Texture]GDI soldier as clown
* Make sure the title clearly states what you release, so it's easy to find what you're looking for in the release forum
* Attach your release to your forum post, unless your release is too big to be attached. This is very important as it's the only way to make sure that in a couple of months/years, your download still exists.
* Announcing you work on something you will release is not the same as a release. These announcements do not belong here, unless you have a beta version attached.
* If possible, please include screenshots of the release, this applies more so to texture releases. You can use http://imageshack.us if you want to attach an image.
* A description or copy of the readme.txt file would be helpful if the release needs one. For example a SSGM Plug-in.
* Obviously this forum doesn't support cheats, so don't talk about them here, let alone release them. This is a fast track path to bansville. Moderators will decide if something is a cheat or not, so PM them if you're unsure. In general we can define a cheat as a modification to the original game giving you a significant (unfair) advantage over players that do not have this modification.
* The general rules of conduct obviously also apply, please do check them.

PortableRA is a distribution of the freeware game Red Alert. It's completely modular with easy to use downloads and installers. It comes with optional configuration tool and launcher, cnc-ddraw (for windowed mode, OpenGL and GDI support) and CnCNet v4 (for online play). It also comes with a large patch, ra303p, which I've been working on with hifi. This patch is compatible with the version of the game used by all players online. Red Alert is one of the most played C&C games online with 100+ players on CnCNet v4 every European evening.

This update comes with tons of new features and fixes, including a fix for the radar dome crash, fixes to missions bugs, ability to save skirmish games and the addition of two new map theaters: desert and winter. Bugs with previous versions of PortableRA have been fixed. There is a lot more, you can find a list of patch features at:

https://github.com/cnc-patch/ra303p/blob/6a547da0481a148e7e7c296161dfcdd6c9edda9 6/docs/features.txt

A lot of people helped me and the patch also contains reverse engineered fixes from AlexB's Arda. Credits go to:

CCHyper: Sharing his vast analysed Red Alert engine database with me and code contributions. Also extended the excutable with a game icon.
FunkyFr3sh: Lots of testing, suggestions, game knowledge, language packs, expansion maps converted to .MPR and much more. You're awesome, dude!
Nyerguds: Contributions to the patch and sharing C&C95 engine knowledge.
AlexB: Various ideas and addresses used for Arda's fixes taken from his Arda project. In Additional lots of information taken from the Arda manual.
Allen262: C&C95 desert and winter theater conversions, testing, map fixes, DOS graphics conversions, beta unit recreations, generic cameos for units which don't have cameos.
Merri: Started work on the desert theater conversion which Allen262 based his finished conversion on, also made the game strings editor used by Iran and FunkyFr3sh for language packs and strings fixes
ehy: Suggestions and bug reporting.
Lovehandles: Testing high resolution patches for in-game LAN dialogs. Which took about 4 hours or so. Wink And more helpful testing.
r34ch: Reporting map bugs and game bugs.
Plotkite_Wolf: RedAlertLauncher background image.
djohe: Making useful test maps and reporting game bugs, testing too.

In the future I will add FunkyFr3sh's CnCNet v5 client to PortableRA. CnCNet v5 is the next iteration of the the CnCNet online service for classic C&C games. It has tons of new features, more convenience and is easier to use than CnCNet v4. It's still new and in heavy development but since a week it's feature complete. It's an amazing effort by FunkyFr3sh and I'm happy to announce I will add his client to the next PortableRA update.

PortableRA and the ra303p patch are still betas and considering the huge size of the project it's reasonable to expect some bugs. Please report any bugs you find and remember this is still a beta.

Who grew up with this amazing game? This was probably my first shooter game I ever played. Well all serious sam's ever made are on sale now as a humble bundle package for $4.10, I just bought my copys. The best part is you support charity with the purchase of these games.
