New Host[ 61 votes ]

I have compiled a list of all the people who offered to take up the duty of RenHelp.net and now you can vote on it. (In order that I found them)

To address some of the questions about this situation:

1. Will the new host get the RenHelp.net domain?
Yes, if they pick up on the bill after this years cycle. I will point the domain wherever they wish and from there I can transfer the domain over to them if they want to keep it.

2. How will I get this website from you?
I will give you FTP access to where every tutorial is in its own subfolder and easily downloaded.

3. How much bandwidth does RenHelp.net get a month?
On average at least 17gb a month, the highest we ever had was 100gb+.

4. How large is RenHelp.net?

Right now just over 5gb.

5. Other

If possible I would like the new host to allow me Moderator access to the new RenHelp so I can still contribute and who knows, might see me back around some day Wink

Voted Game-Maps, because it's a handy site, and combining it with RenHelp will make it a great one-stop place for anything to do with Renegade.

I did vote for myself...But I saw the votes and changed my vote - I realized that not many people would vote for me so yea...So I voted for the one that had the most chance.

Well, as it is always a convenience to have everything in one spot, that also means that they will have to manage more things at once. Any support for something that they cover would be generally slowed. Not to mention if anything suddenly happened to the site or what ever, all of its services would be down.

That's why I think it is better for Renhelp.net to be hosted by a different management that has a lot less to worry about. It would insure better support for the site and its users as well as more time that could be contributed to site maintenance.

About the support, it would not be slowed because renhelp will probably have its own staff team

And about the site going down, well yea if game-maps were to go down it would all go down but how often have you seen game-maps go down?
