C&C Renegade 2?[ 60 votes ]
1. Yeah! Of course! I'd love to see C&C mode brought back, and a connection between the RA and Tiberian universes! 36 / 60%
2. Not Renegade 2, but definitely another C&C FPS with C&C mode 16 / 27%
3. Another C&C FPS, but I hate C&C mode. They should think of something better. 1 / 2%
4. They should bring back Tiberium 4 / 7%
5. No, not at all. EALA should give up on making C&C FPS games all together and concentrate on RTS. 3 / 5%

Just an opinion poll. I've got a similar poll running on the Renegade X forums. So vote and discuss the option you've chosen.

I would love to see Renegade 2 and a connection between the universes made. I would also like to hear more about CABAL.

But it is more difficult to re-connect the universes due to the wild storylines of RA2 and RA3.

I would like to see a Renegade 2 FPS with

-a well done Single Player campaign for both GDI and Nod.
-References to the events in C&C Renegade (and homage to Havoc).
-C&C Mode

Ideally I would like it to be set within the C&C 3 universe.

RA2 and RA3 do not have to connect at all. What people have been WANTING in terms of universe connection is the proper timeline to be official. RA1> C&C/Renegade> TS> C&C 3

RA2 and RA3 were meant as alternate realities resulting from RA1, whereas RA1 fits in as a perfect beginning for the entire series.

I voted for 1, I would have voted for 5 if it said: "No, not at all. EALA should give up on making C&C FPS games all together and just give C&C to someone that is more responsible."

My prefence would be C&C Renegade 2, with no single player (to make sure they focus on 99% of the game, multiplay aspect), with only nod and GDI, and make AOW mode the norm, but make integrated ctf, snipe, etc instead of it being done on a server by server basis. And ofcourse no ties to any other C&C games (especially RA bullshit), but just to renegade as a sequeal. Ive dreamt of this many a nights...

Ugh. No. That'd be TERRIBLE.

They should work on single player alot. And have a good story. The C&C series always had good stories, so it'd be TERRIBLE if they fucked up singleplayer.

Then, work on multiplayer. Most game modes I wouldn't think would be THAT hard to add, and worst case scenario, they can make expansion packs with more MP stuff.

And, C&C was MEANT to tie in with RA1. Seriously, did you ever play RA1? It'd be GREAT if they made a tie in between the TD universe and the RA1 universe.

I'm gong to be the stick in the mud, and say that they should not focus on another FPS, or something similar to Renegade. Simply from a sales/marketing viewpoint, I don't think many gamers are interested in the 'Renegade' model of multiplayer, because if there was a demand, it would have been implemented into Tiberium.

Mostly why Renegade failed is because of the sheer bugginess and incomplete game mechanics. And, lack of decent marketing.

Personally I'd like to see a C&C Renegade 2 (option one). I thought the information/screenshots/art released by Westwood after Renegade 2's cancellation was superb, and could have acted as a great wrap-up of the C&C storyline and answer some questions and plot holes within the C&C story.

That and C&C mode would really attract me to the game. There were also a lot of other cool modes Westwood talked about a couple years ago.

This. I originally found a preview about Renegade in some obscure gaming magazine with not more than a paragraph. Some several years later, I'm told about Renegade by a friend, long after its release and Westwood's untimely demise. In all that time, I didn't see one ad for Renegade. None.

Oh, and I voted for option 1.

I don't like the fact that they started a project and didn't finish it.

I for one was looking forward to Tiberium as it is the type of game that I love playing. It was an RTS C&C from a different perspective (as you still commanded your units).

I want them to finish Tiberium, because whether they do or not, the only way they would ever make a C&C Renegade 2 would be further into the future and that's with or without Tiberium...

It would make no difference if Tiberium was released or if it wasn't. That's why I think that they should finish Tiberium first, and then they have the rest of the future to create a Renegade 2.

How I look at it though, is that they canceled Tiberium because the concept simply didn't work (alongside other, internal problems). It's very rare that you find EA canceling games, so having Tiberium canceled would mean that it simply a disaster. Otherwise they would've either released it as is, or spent a few months fixing whatever problems it had.

That wasn't the reason it was canceled, it was canceled so that people wouldn't spend money on Tiberium and they would on Medal of Honor.

Big deal that Tiberiam was cancelled who was waiting on it anyways I think that it would have been a big failure.

Yeah! Of course! I'd love to see C&C mode brought back, and a connection between the RA and Tiberian universes!

of course.

IMHO, it wasn't the problem they canceled Renegade 2 in the olden days. It was and is the problem they never managed to release it at all!
---------------------
I want a Renegade 2 with some new ways in gameplay=

All three sides do start with a MCV. The players will spawn around it and the first to enter will drive it. If he leaves, it will get stuck and begin to operate. Meanwhile, the Inf around has to defend it against the enemy because they can kill it.

No, you don't have to buy stuff with a sidebar, if you're thinking "oh no, he wants to play RA converted to Ren": The WF, PP, Barr etc will spawn on certain places (within specific time limits) a chosen player is standing on at this moment. On the MCV, there will be buttons players can poke for activating the ref, strip etc. They have to be protected by team mates until the building is up.

The freedom of choice where to place the buildings would be a fresh idea alongside the MCV thing. Mappers won't have to worry about structure anymore.

If you have enough money, you are able to build a base defense which can stand at a maximum of 100 meters from the outer base area.

Based on a modern engine with new weapons, new vehicles and with the C&C-Mode, this concept COULD be an idea.

If Renegade 2 was made tbh I think it should really just play the same as Renegade, with that as a different game mode.

What I'd like to see if a new game had C&C mode is bigger maps. Renegade's maps are pretty small and too mirror like with the bases.

Small maps is what kept the tight gameplay, though. A lot of custom maps played in new maps servers are really huge and that results in slower gameplay. Take Last_Stand for an example, that map can't really be played unless you've got at least twenty people in the server; and even when you do it's still a lot slower than a 10v10 in a map like Field or Islands.

The Premier edition of Red Alert III comes with a beta key to a future C&C game. Nobody knows what universe it will be in.

Big fanmaps aren't worth playing: noone likes to have to run for 2 minutes before meeting someone, get a 10 second fight, then get killed and run for 2 minutes again. The few popular fanmaps, like snow, bunkersTS and Siege are all rather small and action filled.

Precisely. And maps like Bunkers, Siege, and Hangman's Canyon are actually my favorite fan maps. A lot of the rest are way too big for Renegameplay.

Well, it's definitely possible to make a large map that would work well. It'd have to be more vehicle centric but I'd love to see it done.

What? In Counterstrike you run around for 2 mins followed by a gunfight of 1-5 seconds and then you're either dead or you walk around again for 2 mins, and yet the game is insanely popular Razz
