Word of mouth, working in the fast food industry it sucks when your on drie thru, you cant explain problems to people because they are in line outside, but upfront you can yell out the problem and people will understand. So Word of mouth ftw,.

LOOL!

Word of mouth is the easiest but it is constrained by your location.

So then the the phone and internet come to play...and yet thay have their limitations.

Even though myspace and facebook are gay, you can reach more people from the public there (especially myspace).

Written word.

I manage a crew, and found that every time I gave orders verbally, someone always comes back, wanting clarification, or forgetting all, or part of the instruction.

So, I began to write small lists about a year ago, with some explanation for my employees, and I'll hand it to them. It takes a little longer, but I've never had anyone come back for clarification again, and every job is not only done right, but it's done the best way possible.

And I write letters, because it's more personal. Communication on a forum like this sucks, because one person's sarcastic joke, is another person's flame.

I like voice chat in general, sometimes it's awkward to talk face-to-face for a long time. But on MSN, Teamspeak, Skype, etc. it's not rare for a discussion to go on for a long time.

As much as I hate wasting time on the PC, voice chat wins for me.

I think from webcam/voice it is more powerful, because say your upset, reading text doesnt show much of how you feel, the tone a person speaks can mostly be shown in voice.

Depends who I am speaking to, and for what reason, For my friends, it's face to face. I have enough trouble understanding emotion without the lack of a facial expression and tones of voice to help. For you lot, over here is fine. Razz

I think faster than I can speak. So when I talk with people, my sentences are all jumbled up and people have a hard time following along with me.

Of all of the above, I have to choose snail mail. Any form of vocal communication causes me the same problem; I mean to say one thing and something completely different comes out, then I stumble over my words and wind up awkwardly silent. This is especially true of class presentations and any other form of speaking to multiple people at once. It is easy enough to deal with the written or typed word- my hands (fortunately) do not suffer the same difficulties as my vocal chords do- but of written forms, I consider anything handwritten to be slightly more personal. A hand-written letter may contain much more of a person's actual self, emotions and all, than anything typed is able to.

Thus, snail mail it is, even though I almost never use it. Wink

"Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property. Horrid mischief would ensue were (the law-abiding) deprived of the use of them." - Thomas Paine

Remember, kids: illiteracy is cool. If you took the time to read this, you are clearly a loser who will never get laid. You've been warned.

flame him for that Nukeit Razz

as for the internet, i prefer typed because you can meet some very friendly people on here (not that way) that would probably make fun of you in real life. (hint hint, Muad gets flamed in real life for the way he (I) talk) for real life, i prefer phones, because face to face gets a little to personal after a while. Which is why I can't stand looonnng conversations.

Hehe. I think we need to come back to the basic communication. E-communication destroys the real communication.
