I'm wondering if there is a way of writing a script to tell telnet to login and send a series of commands then close the session?

It's for my ADSL router. If I want to change from PPP to PPTP mode I have to delete connections and re-add them on the web interface and I can't have 2 connections on the same VPI/VCI meaning I need to re-configure settings when switching between modes.

Just wondering what there is to automate this? It needs to be able to run then log into my modem and then send commands the modem uses such as "phonebook" and "PPP" to add and delete connections.
