How do you host a dedicated server? [message #40419]

I want to host a dedicated server, but I don't know how. What software do I need? Does the server have to be on a seperate machine than Renegade? How do I set the server up once I get the things I need?

Any help would be great, thanks

WELL you could have gone to http://www.westwood.com and got the FDS that you do need.... but its not there anymore that site got torn apart. You can get it at http://www.planetcnc.com though Very Happy

Go download that then if you want it to have all the !help and !mods and be able to make people admins and so on you will need to download br.net.

Go download that then if you want it to have all the !help and !mods and be able to make people admins and so on you will need to download br.net.

OOO yea and to set it up you will need to register a new nick name and then get your FDS serial code that will be sent to you by email. After this you can finish downloading FDS. Then get br.net and all the patchs you will have to put something in your system32 file that like .dll or something i will check the exact name. Once you get br.net up its pretty self explanitory you just pick your server name players rules vehical buy auto kick and any opetion you can imagin. Good Luck man...LOL myn worked just that my modem drops people cant hold more than 4 lol.
