Yeah you need to own Renegade in order to use the expansion pack. It is basically another installation of Renegade that contains all of the Ren Alert stuff meaning that it is not installed as a PKG file or a mod as such. It's similar to the way counterstrike is for halflife, using a copy of the engine but with custom content. I'm not sure if this means a custom always.dat file too but I guess thats possible.
I think this will be great when it is released. There should be a bug report tool in my opinion so that we can report errors and help improve the modification. If this hasn't already been implimented then a form such as the one in Planetside that allows you to fill in where it occured and other stuff about the bug then it sends it to the mod team. I'm sure that has been considered and implimented though already.
Great work guys, hope the mod shows off your hard work.

obviously if it has been developed by the makers of BR.net and also based off the original FDS I would say there is a fairly big chance that it will be compattable. If not I'm sure that will be added anyway.

Here is a dumb question, I only skimmed the topic since time is short right now. Will the FDS for Ren Alert work with BR .Net?

Knowing the differences in the RenAlert FDS, I am pretty sure there is no reason for BR.NET not to work.
