I need some information about the dedicated server so my dad will let me host one off his server...

first off, where can I d/l the dedicated server? the one from the Renegade page is down....

and secondly, we have a firewall, and my dad doesn't want it compromised, if I host a dedicated server, will people be able to compromise our firewall and access our network?

im not sure about the firewall issue, but i know when i had my firewall up it wouldn't work... might be diff for you.

I appreciate your help a ton... only the link doesn't do me any good to d/l since I can't use it...

Rules are that I can't have anything that will disable our firewall..

Jus to mention: the FDS program is only a small prog, and it won't work with firewall because people have to log in (your server). The Renegade FDS program got no "Remote Admin" trick.. for that, try the [BR] prog. (Blaze Regulator).

OHHHH thats why i have 8 players on my server when my firewall is up :rolleyes:

well, i have a physical firewall (router) and the FDS works with it. just 1 prob, LAG. the firewall dlows the connection down alot. sadly i dont know bout ppl being able to hack through..... doubt they would..... the server only alows ppl to conect with it through i guess a pipeline through your firewall, and only ppl w/ renegade can connect. other than that, i cant really help you, im not a hacker Very Happy
