Do NOT buy an Acer, a HP or a SONY. I know people who have owned these brands and had bad things to say.

If I was looking for a laptop, the brands I know and would consider:
Asus
Toshiba
Lenovo
Samsung (dont know a lot about their laptops but if their laptops are as good as their smartphones, you probably cant go wrong)

As for Dell, I have family that bought a Dell XPS laptop because they needed something powerful enough to handle graphics, 3d rendering, video editing etc and they have had nothing bad to say about the laptop.

An ASUS G75 is a bit cheaper than a Dell XPS and offers similar specs.
