Everytime I change my keys from right click to become free aim and my alternate fire to become v it crashes... why?

Don't have it, my ren doesn't really crash, its more like it freezes up and I got to alt + tab to desktop then ctrl + alt + del and stop process of Renegade because it has stopped working.

Try to go to My Documents/Renegade/Client and delete (and backup or rename) the following files:

config.dat
input01.cfg
input02.cfg
input03.cfg
input<etc>.cfg

Then try again.

I don't have does files. In the location you mentioned.
I only have config

Can you look for any files with the same names (config.dat and input*.cfg) in your renegade folder and its subfolders and, if they exist, remove them as well? If they existed, remove the one in my documents again also (the game will have recreated it).

Also please post the version number it says in the main screen when you start Renegade. The bug you're encountering existed in a previous version and should not occur in the current one, but maybe you somehow still have the previous version installed. Reinstalling may fix the problem.

You are missing a hotpatch that fixes exactly this issue. Are you not starting game.exe, or is the update failing? Please do not run game2.exe directly (for exactly this reason).

Can you clear your internet explorer cache/temporary internet files and then run UAC Launcher again?

If that does not help, please download http://www.tiberiantechnologies.org/update/game/versions.dat in internet explorer and try again.

If that does not work, please upload the *.clu file from your game folder here.

You can delete it again, it was just to test whether something failed to download the updater file. Please attach the *.clu file(s) from your renegade dir to a post in this topic.
