As stated in the other topic: The server listing does not work properly at all

I randomly get crashes saying something bad happened and to copy it on the forum though I got told to ignore those and I can't copy them anyway unless I take the time to ss them.
Sometimes I "alt tab" out with those messages but am still able to go on without having to restart my renegade, though they will become more frequent after a while

Sometimes (2 times now) I get a horrible horrible lag spike followed by my entire laptop figuratively blowing up, everything goes dark and when I try to reboot I get stuck in a blue screen of death reboot loop which I have luckily been able to fix

I get horrible fps drops whenever I enter an orca (not apache)

The doppelgangers seem to have multiplied by at least 10, these people are running in a straight line when they aren't actually there (imagine gameplay pending but only on one dude) and I'm able to kill them (which I often do out of reflex before I realise they aren't really there). I found out I'm able to reproduce this effect easily on field-ts when standing at the nod bunker (gdi will appear to just walk out of their base)

The autodownloader has some hickups on a few maps. Field-ts and tropic...something especially. It loads the map since I have them, decides I don't have them and downloads 0kb, loads the map halfway and crashes my renegade. I am able to join again after this without problems.

edit: Forgot about one. I got kicked by the TT anti-cheat for a file that apparently adds itself and removes itself after I closed renegade. It only happened once and got fixed after a simple restart.
Note: My renegade is as clean as a fresh install apart from the maps and scripts. I do not use any skins nor have I ever used some.

The server listings not working for some of you will be fixed in the next release. The same goes for those "something bad happened" messages.

If you get a BSOD, it is likely not Renegade/TT that is causing, but some driver. With good drivers, it should be impossible for Renegade/TT to trigger a BSOD. Try updating your graphics drivers.

I'm not sure about the orca thing; does it always happen when you enter one, on any server/map?

I think those doppelgangers/ghosts appear on pre-4.0 servers only; I'm not sure why they are though. We still need to investigate this.

You probably have the .mix versions of the maps installed. In that case, it is normal for the downloader to redownload the maps (TT stores them differently). It should not attempt to load before downloading though, nor should it crash. Can you send the crashdump (recentmost few .dmp files in My Documents/Renegade/Client/Debug), and if possible make a video of the load-before-download behavior for me to see exactly what's happening?

The anticheat message was probably caused by an improperly configured server. It is unfortunately quite easy for a server owner to misconfigure something so that those messages show up.

Will try to record, I'm on a notebook so my fps does not like it when I do that
As for the doppelgangers, they appeared on a 4.0 server
The orca happened on some fanmade maps (I cannot remember the names unfortunately and I have yet to play a not fanmade flying map.

Did you check your sbbo settings? There are several topics on how to set it correctly in this section of the forums. 4.0 is more sensitive to a correct sbbo setting than before.
