I dunno.. I'm kinda disappointed in the multiplayer. It falls on its face in a lot of places that would have made it amazing.

My biggest concern is that you control just so poorly. Functions like proning take way too long than they should especially when you're trying to stand up from a prone position.

I actually like the longer time to get to and up from prone. Keeps the dolphin divers at bay.

You can still dolphin dive. That is one thing they did correctly. You can dive into a prone position easily. However, once in a prone position, it takes a few seconds to ready your aim. That is fine. It keeps people from dropping to a low profile and then picking heads off in a quick action.

The single player functions are different than the multiplayer functions and I think they are much better in single player than they are in multiplayer.

For example, in single player, you can go from prone to sprinting and even get a quick 1-2 second speed boost from a prone position. That actually makes sense since you can get your legs under you easier from a prone position and thus are able to get a quick start while sprinting. However in multiplayer, they force you to stand still as you get up from prone.

Will say this, Co-op campaign is fun as hell, specially when the other person can't fly and you can make fun of him for it, since the game keeps putting you in the gunner seat. Had a blast making fun of a friend for killing more mountain space than enemies.

And is this command system an actual Commander mode where one guy is the leader of the team and he tells everyone where to go, what to defend, launches arty strikes etc.? Or is it just that cheesy thing where you push q and it says "enemy spotted."

I've only ever played one previous Battlefield game and that was Battlefield 2142. But what is so wrong with helping out your team by spotting enemies for them? Why is it "cheesy" to do that? I think that it's much more cheesy to have some omnipotent "commander" giving you aid like they are a hand of god or something.

Granted I think there should be someone with the ability to assist the whole team with supplies and artillery... but the individual soldiers should not have their ability to assist the team removed by taking away their ability to call out the locations of enemies.

Cheesy because it's so dumbed down from the original, the original allowed you to not only let the game detect what you were spotting but choose from a drop down list what you were spotting. You could aslo choose to call for help, ammo, medit, and other statements from the same menu system, it was very effiecent.

I know in 2142 the menu let you call for ammo or a medkit. Those options aren't readily there anymore, but you can still do that if you're in a situation where you need ammo or health and a medic/support unit is near by.

If you hold down Q you still get a radio command list for things like Negative/Affirmative, Thank you, Need Pickup, Sorry, etc. Just tapping Q will spot enemies.

I think the spotting mechanic is better now that you don't have to say what it is you are spotting. If you spot an infantry, you spot an infantry. If you spot a tank, you spot a tank. You really shouldn't be able to confuse a jet with a soldier.

Most of the time when you spot infantry it just says "Enemy soldier spotted." But if you're close enough to see what type of soldier, then it will be more specific.

Yeah that worked fine back in 2142, it was just useful to be able to specify what you saw if you can't spot it anymore because it moved out of range.

Yeah, that's one thing that BF3 doesn't have. At least in 2142 you were able to spot an enemy in a general area, say if they went into cover or something. But in BF3 you can't do that since you can only spot what you can see.
