Honestly I really don't get what the appeal is, takes so much time that could be spent so much more productivly.
Anyone play it and know what it is that actually attracts them to it.

MineCraft's graphics are a surprisingly nice break from the brown and bloom of modern vidya.
It has that sorta classic, cartoony feel games are supposed to have. Yeah, it's a sort of poor excuse for poor graphics, but it's not that bad when you get into it.
Anyways, the reason why people like it is because it's a completely randomly generated world with virtually infinite size (Technically not infinite, but 8x the size of Earth).
Plus, you can pretty much build whatever you want. Yeah, it takes some time, but that's kind of what a sandbox game is supposed to be. Ultimately, that's what videogames are, anyways.
And if you don't think it's exciting, go cave exploring with nothing more than some torches, some ladders, and a sword. Or maybe not even the sword.
...also pretty much all the fun comes from the actual bought version, Classic is crap.

It's basically a sandbox game where the world is made up of blocks. See a block? You can remove it, pick it up, and place it somewhere else.
In Classic mode, you're given unlimited blocks, and can place 'em wherever as many times as you want. It's basically playing Lego with an infinite tub of pieces. Not really fun at all, but interesting.
Then you have the current beta mode (which costs a small amount of money, definitely worth it)- which is constantly (more like monthly at best lolol) being added onto. You start off with nothing, and have to make tools by breaking down trees and such and turning them into wooden tools (like a pickaxe) to destroy (or "mine") blocks and yield you the block you just destroyed. You can either place that block, or use it as a crafting material (sometimes, not every block can be used to be crafted into something- IE: dirt)- so you can chop down some wood to get some logs, then through a series of crafting stuff into other stuff you can make a wooden pickaxe to mine stone- and from there, well, it's basically up to you.
Oh yeah also there's zombies, skeleton archers, and these green fuckers that are completely silent until they're right next to you, going "SSSSSSssssSSSs" and explode, damn near (if not outright) killing you and destroying a shitton of things around you.
Fuck creepers.
PS: The world is randomly generated and practically infinite. Just throwing that out there again.

Ren has 10x better graphics than minecraft...so thanks for proving my point. There's actual gameplay involved in it as well....unlike minecraft which is for people who have way to much time on their hands.
