One year ago today, on September 30th 2009, the first beta was released, and to celebrate this special occasion, Renegade X released a new beta for Unreal Tournament 3: Renegade X v.0.55.

0.55 includes:

- 19 weapons and 2 superweapons
- 11 vehicles
- 8 maps
- And the unique gamemode everyone loves: C&C mode

We normally get a jump of players with every release for a couple months. Our previous version, 0.5, was released in January, and it had a decent playerbase for a few months. That was until the server browser went down, which is the main tool for joining servers.

With the new beta and fixed server browser I expect a good playerbase. But we are still a mod, and still incomplete, so the current playerbase will not be as large as future, standalone releases.

I think I'm just going to tape screenshots of RenX onto my windows because the graphics are way more gorgeous than anything that's real.

C&C Mode is mode where you have to kill the other team's base. So the game that's played on most servers nowadays.

We've had Command & Conquer mode since the first version, except for Powerplants which came in 0.4 I believe. The only thing missing right now are aircraft, two weapons per side, and the pedestal.

Nice! Just as you promised the other day Big Grin But its not standalone? I thought that was the goal of the next release since the UDK has been released Huh

I owned UT3, but uninstalled it earlier this weak because its a bad game.

Like I mentioned in the release post, we had originally planned 0.5 to be the last beta for UT3, but 0.5 ran into some technical difficulties with the serving browsing system. So, we had to release either a patch or a new build, so we chose the latter.
