Back! Having problems with Ren. Server listings are coming up as "version mismatch". Anybody?

Is there not an update to download after installing the game? And does it not automatically ask if you want to download it in order to play online? I don't think I even got the prompt.

I also can't get TS3 to install properly.

Have you followed the steps written here?

The TS3 part I wouldn't have a clue... as it is fairly new and I haven't heard of anyone having problems with it.

the forum area is called "technical support"

the first problem is answered in the FAQs if WOL related or, as mentioned above, a faulty installed game

the second problem could need some more info other than "it doesnt work"

Yeah, as far as the "version mismatch" just read that sticky. As for TS3, simply telling us "it won't install" gives us nothing to work with.

Ok, so I got the problem with Ren figured out, but my problem with TS3 remains. I was told more info would be needed, and so I have provided it below.

Problem:

I downloaded and installed TS3 (32 & 64-bit client) no problem. Though when I click on the icon to initialize the program , I get the following message:

"ts3client_win32.exe Unable to locate DLL"

The dynamic link library MSVCP90.dll could not be found in the specified path:

C:/program files/teamspeak3client;.;C:/winnt/system32;C:/winnt/system;C:/winnt;C:/winnt/sys tem32;C:winnt;C:/winnt/system 32/wbem

Any takers?

Download and install. I am amazed TS3 doesn't include this in it's installer tbh...

Or, if your running the 64bit TS3 client, grab this download instead;

You havent been playing new games arent you? Razz

It's included with all recent games Big Grin

And yea it should be included with the setup of TS3 indeed. Or at least a link to it in the installer or download page >.>

AFAIK the 32-bit does also work on 64-bit, though not as good and efficient Thumbs Up

Uninstalled and re-installed both 32 & 64-bit client TS3, having tried both downloads from the links provided, (Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package x86 for the 32_bit, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package x64 for the 64-bit. The result was an epic fail.

I got this message when I clicked on the icons of the programs downloaded from both links provided:

The procedure entry point HeapSetInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

Any one care to take this one?

Yeah, it's a series of issues to do with Win2K being really, really bad. (Technical stuff: MS added a load of new functions to XP and higher's Kernel32.dll (and other DLLs) which TS3 relies on)

You should upgrade to XP, or follow the instructions linked to by Omar.

I appreciate all the help guys. Unfortunately I'm not computer literate enough to know what the hell I'm doing as far as following the instructions given in the link provided by Omar. I'd probably kill my pc.

With that being said, I'm guessing I'll just have to upgrade to XP, after just having downgraded to 2000 being that my old pc is pretty much dead.

How much would it hurt the wallet to upgrade to XP? Is there no other way to come by it other than to purchase it?

The only legal way to acquire an OS is by purchasing it. Any illegal ways shall not be discussed on these forums anyway.

You can find me in The KOSs2 (TK2) discord while I'm playing. Feel free to come and say hi! TK2 discord

also some future games do not support XP

To be honest, given as he's running Win2K, his hardware is probably too old to support any game that is using DirectX 10 or above (The XP cut-off).
