Only if you disable the STEAM community part, which is the only reason why you'll want to launch the game from STEAM.

Every so often, I get this positive feeling that humanity can somehow, possibly attain pure awesomeness, and enlightenment, and that there is light at the end of the road for us all. However, I only need to go to the latest HUD thread at RenForums to remind me of how dumb I was for thinking such stupid things.

Has something to do with hooking into Renegade. Thought it had something to do with Scripts 3.x

The technical reason for the STEAM (with STEAM community option ENABLED) and Renegade with Scripts 3.X not working together is that the STEAM community option uses DirectX hooks that Scripts 3.X also uses, causing a conflict and crash.

TT will probably fix it, but in the meantime, STEAM can be used to launch Renegade with Scripts 3.X but only with STEAM community option disabled.

If OP doesn't require Scripts 3.X then Scripts 2.9.2 might allow the STEAM community option. Check the stickied topics.

Epic post is epic.

You can run it via steam but when you do and you join certain servers it will (or use to) give off a false positive to a certain cheat but I wont go into that

That was only users running RR and Yar fixed that by adding signed file checking ages ago

If we had to ban all who ever cheated or ever created a cheat (obj3cts and such) then I don't think there would be many members left here (sad fact).
