My computer was reset and I re-installed TFD. I downloaded CP2 then tried to play online but got this error...

Your installed version of Westwood Online is
incompatible with this product.
Please reinstall the Westwood Online component.

What do I do?

Thanks for the help.

I doubt you will have an answer but I have another question and don't think I should post a whole new topic for it.

I had a 56k connection before I moved and now I have like 4m, 4m bps. I'm using the same computer and ISP. I still live in the same city... why would my connection speed drop just from moving?

I can't play Renegade because of this horrible connection speed. If you know why this happend and/or what I can do to fix this please tell me.

Open up Renegade and go to Westwood, then go to My Information on the sidebar on the left. Check if the connection is set to 56k. If it is, just set it to LAN/T1.

Shocked Razz but 56k sounds cooler Thumbs Up

What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do.

4m, 4m bps is in no way faster.

I can't drive for shit on renegade because I'm prettymuch teleporting around on my screen.

I used to be able to watch streaming video straight through. Now It takes like an hour to buffer 24 minutes of video.

It is in all ways faster than 56K. Do you even know what that is (read the part about speed)??
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/56_kbit/s_modem

Also:

Kilobit per second

A kilobit per second (kbit/s or kb/s or kbps) is a unit of data transfer rate equal to:

    * 1,000 bits per second or
    * 125 bytes per second.

Megabit per second

A megabit per second (Mbit/s or Mb/s or Mbps) is a unit of data transfer rate equal to:

    * 1,000,000 bits per second or
    * 1,000 kilobits per second or
    * 125,000 bytes per second.

So even if you multiply the Kilobit by 56 and the Megabit by 4, 4m it's still faster Sarcasm

I don't give a shit what all that copy paste crap says. Back when I had 56k I could actually play renegade. Now I get 2000+ ping even with lowest quality setting.

Because your bandwith settings are still at 56K, so it's not using the rest of your connection...

Ingame, try typing "`", followed by "sbbo 4000000", then press enter. See if that helps.

Or, change your connection settings like Cmatt suggested.

It's not just renegade that is slow. Anything I do on the internet is slow as shit.

I attached my speedtest.net results. Please view how shitty they are.

Simple, call your isp and tell them about it, if there any good they should be able to help you.

Yeah, compare your result to the ISP average. Something's up with your line. (I've had this, but as I live in the UK, the phone system may be wildly different, so I won't go on)
