Ok, yesterday I think a virus got onto my computer. Windows Defender found a trojan in Win32, TrojanDownloader:Win32/Renos.JM, and it has come up 3 or 4 times even though I have clicked remove.
One thing I have noticed is that when opening google chrome, it says the page is unresponsive. Another problem is that MSN Messenger signs out after 5-10 seconds of being signed in.
Internet Explore is working fine, although its slow as it always has been, and that is where I am posting this from.
I have checked my firewall settings and they are both listed as exceptions.
I have posted results of a complete slow scan from AVG 8. The Renos notification will be ss'd when it comes up again.
Help please!

Thank you, I will try that immediately.
I am now in Safe Mode.
AVG just opens up a CMD promt thing when I press 'scan now' and that goes away after a few seconds.
I am currently running a full scan with Defender, though.
Windows defender, in safe mode, found nothing. WHAT? Booting regularly, the virus still shows up. I am having the same problems, and the virus even left me some porn on my desktop.
Another question, if I transfer data to another computer, will the virus go along with it? How about if I sync my iPod?

iPod = unlikely.
Keep only certain files. Don't keep EXEs, or DLLs. I'd be careful of certain other file types known to be able to carry viruses, microsoft office documents, for example, can contain them in macro form.
If you do copy everything, run every scanner in existence on everything.

Ok I will probably buy an external HDD and back everything up. I talked to a parent's friend that is very computer savvy and he said the only way is a restore. I didn't even think to ask about recovery discs. When I got this computer I wasn't smart enough to put the disc in a safe place. So, what number would I call to get another one

If it's from a manufacturer like HP or Toshiba, usually you have to call their support line, with all your info, plus the computer model number(s). You'll most likely need to pay them for a new recovery CD, and it could be expensive.

Some manufacturers have a partition on the hard drive that contains all the necessary stuff to perform a clean reformat back to default settings.
Since you might need to invest money or time, see if this helps you out some in getting rid of the bad stuff.

I bought a restore disc, so that's the route I'll be going. I'm pretty lucky that I had all my music on my ipod. Thanks for the help.

Use Sandboxie to run files inside a virtual sandbox. The application doesn't seem to work with Windows 7 yet.
