When I click on the C&C The First Decade Icon it says I can launch it but the main menu doesn't show up...In my processes it says the TFDLauncher is running but my desktop stays blank. When I go to uninstall the program I get a pop-up dialog message saying.

Setup.exe

Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

My uncle did a system restore to about a month ago to where the game was installed and I came home and it started doing this. I undid the restore point yet it appears nothing changed as a result. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Can you run the game directly? Find your Renegade folder and run "game.exe" (may just show up as "game").

The system restore maybe went back to a point before you installed the game? So all registry references are gone?

Did you try reinstalling/repairing the game without uninstalling?

Try running a Repair Install if you still have the disk.

Every so often, I get this positive feeling that humanity can somehow, possibly attain pure awesomeness, and enlightenment, and that there is light at the end of the road for us all. However, I only need to go to the latest HUD thread at RenForums to remind me of how dumb I was for thinking such stupid things.
