Hi, like the title says i cant enter WOL error message appears saying "Your Installed Version of WestWood Online is incompatible with this Version Please Reinstall the WestWood Online Component" i cheked the stiky Faq and| Quote: |
Problem
When I go online, I get a message "incompatible version of Westwood Online (WOL)
Solution
Normal Renegade
If you have normal ren (not the first decade), this is usually because you installed an older C&C-game (red alert 2, for exemple) after renegade and you installed WOL for it.
It will then install an older version of WOL over the renegade version and you'll get an incompatibility message.
To solve this, just launch the setup on the install disc and only select the WOL components to be installed. It'll reinstall WOL and your problem should be solved.
The First Decade version of Renegade
Download this and run it and select only "WOLAPI" install. It will install the latest version of WOL.

i have always have this issue
i use Windows Vista 64 bit Version Home Premium
i have a NvidiaGeForce 8200
i have conection Cable DSL
I resently downloaded a wolapi.dll but this only worked for RA2 not even yuri's revenge
I have TFD but i think is the problem with Older game WOLAPI version because i cant play ether Yr and Renegade only RA2 online
and the solucion for TFD version renegade, the link says "Error
That file does not exist" help please.....

um, i downloaded the thing from the link,
not realising id have to download the entire A path beyond mod to get these tiny files.
to which no option was given to me to install wol only components.
what do i do,
i just formatted my pc so im having to jump through these hoops to get my game to ork again, sort of annoying

Liquedv2, yew need to branch out a little on your thinking. I'm sure you'll twig it soon enough, but you're barking up the wrong tree.
The map is budding with new ideas and great game-play, AitcraftKiller just has to get to the root of the problem, it seems to have him pretty stumped right now.
Leaf him alone, he's doing a good job. I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say this map isn't fir you.
Anyway, this thread is really starting to lumber along, all this over some sap's map? I thought the game was dead, but this thread at least is poplar. It makes me pine for the days of yonder.
At the end of the day, life's a Beech.. Who wood of thought it?

No, if you install Renegade, and THEN, say, RA2 from the TFD disc, EA brilliantly didn't notice that that would install an older version of the WOL components, overwriting the newer ones from Renegade, thus breaking Renegade.

But it is a easy fix (works for me). Go to your Renegade folder, right klick at the game.exe file and go to compability. There you mark the box with "Run as admin(or something 
)".
