Passing on knowledge of something and trying to get others to join your cause or try it themselves is known as advertising...
No one would be as 'destructive' if someone posted about atheism because atheism invites an open mind free of bias and intolerance. Other religions are the opposite: very intolerant of others beliefs and close minded to anything else than what they want to believe.
Its that flaw that people on the internet enjoy nitpicking and making fun of.
