If a strike is made against Iran, gas prices would soar sky high, destroy the Middle East, crush economies, and bring in years and decades of war and suffering with seemingly no end to the violence.

If Israel bombs Iran, Russia will probably go after Israel, and this could probably happen. Granted, it was written in the 80s and some things might be off, but it looks like a very real possibility.

I seriously doubt anything is going to happen. To paraphrase George Carlin, what we are witnessing is nothing but a multi-billion dollar prick waving competition. Iran threatens Israel, so Israel has to threaten them back, and then Iran ups the ante with a missile launch (which was nothing spectacular anyway).
First off, Ahmadinejad is merely playing 'politics of the street' , something which isn't new in the Middle East, and he's definitely taking a page from Nasser's book. He likes to give loud speeches, and speak like he's one of the people, when in reality, he's a paper tiger.
Here's the real reason why Ahmadinejad is being a sandy butthole:
Iran's economy blows ass.
Simply put, he's trying to divert attention from Iran's poor performance, a strategy that has been done to death by guys like Nasser. Ahmadinejad knows that going to war with Israel and America would be a big mistake for obvious reasons, so he'll continue to be full of bluster, but he'll never act.
If anything, Ahmadinejad is trying to detract influence from Saudi Arabia, a country that is the big player in the Middle East, and has a majority Sunni population, as opposed to Iran's Shiite population.
Secondly, Russia and China sit on the UN Security Council, and will deter any action whatsoever.
The United States has seen what results 'unilateral action' can produce, and so has the rest of the world. Therefore, if a war is desired, the United States will have no choice but to pursue a multilateral approach, and you can bet your ass that no sane country will want to join the Americans on another Middle Eastern jaunt while they still have yet to finish the other two ventures.
Israel COULD go it alone, but I doubt they'll get much support from anyone, including the United States. The American people are tired of the Middle East, and tired of the idiocy surrounding the region... and seeing as it's presidential election season, the candidate who takes the strongest position against Israel will definitely benefit from disgruntled voters.

All anyone really has to do to cripple Iran is bomb their nuclear program, including all their power plants, uranium and plutonium enriching facilities, etc. They've got all their money invested in that, destroying that is basically like burning up all their cash.

War makes a lot of money, but that money goes towards the companies (weapons companies, security companies like Blackwater, banks, etc.) involved in the war. Not the society. The 500 billion dollars spent from the tax payer's pockets could've had better use that actually helped America as a whole.
500 billion dollars is $2,147 per American.
Imagine that kind of money going into schools, health care, security in America, charity, streets, communities, and stuff that actually matters. Instead of going to war, losing over 4000 U.S soldiers, and over a million Iraqis.
Of course though, this is all worth it, because the U.S had to disarm Saddam's weapons of mass destructions (which did not exist) and hamper his links to Al Qaeda (which also did not exist) and stabilize the Middle East (which is now far more unstable than before the war)
And yes, we need to bomb Iran back to the stone age, because Israel (which has one of the best armies in the world and can defend itself) is worth another more thousands of U.S lives, billions of more U.S dollars, more hundreds of thousands of Iranian lives, and inevitably more Israeli lives.

And if one of them was you, then you wouldn't be saying anything for sure. 
Even if only 1 U.S soldier was killed, it would still be too much for the inexistent weapons of mass destruction.
Oh and by the way, that's 4000 U.S soldiers dead. If you want to talk about the amount injured in battle, we're talking over 30,000, many of which are crippled for life. As for Iraqis, that's over one million dead as I had said previously. Doesn't include those countless Iraqis who are injured, in dungeons like Abu Ghraib, in captivity, or forced to move out of their country (now over 2 million).

It's not in Iran's interest to go after the West. Heck, trade between the United States and Iran has increased almost ten-fold under Bush's two terms.
I'm going to stand by my previous comments. So far, nothing extraordinary between Iran, and Israel has occurred in the past few days, and I will bet money that nothing will.

Ahmejad maybe be crazy but I doubt hes THAT crazy. by the time the missile from iran reaches the athmosphere, 24 Trident II will be @his door.
