I am trying to install renegade core patch 2. The install gets to the ending and then says "Old file does not exist."
How can I fix this?
Who am I?

You probably didn't install patch 1.037 before installing core patch. Get it at ftp.westwood.com .

When I try to download the patch it says "Old file not found. However a file with the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match."
Who am I?

Reinstall the game completely, following the steps in the reinstall-guide which you can find as a sticky in the "renegade client"-subforum. That will be the quickest solution.
