On an immature level that was hilarious and since I am often in an immature mood I laughed so hard I cried. There were a lot of rumours around that one too actually but I never cared to look into it.

...uriosity is POWERFULOL...

I understand what curiosity is and what it does. There's a reason why the saying "curiosity killed the cat" exists.

Why do my arguments always funnel back to my all time favorite "personal responsibility" argument? Because regardless of how you twist it, a person is still 100% responsible for their reactions even if you claim there's some underlying force pushing someone to make that decision.

See, this is why I hate liberals... they try to excuse everything to sugarcoat it all. It's what drives Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to keep opening their mouths. It's what wastes billions and billions of dollars on welfare and education. Compassion is a good thing, but it becomes dangerous when you're willing to pretend that everybody is 100% good, and only their decisions are bad. Sorry, but a healthy tree doesn't bear bad fruit. Or as they say, GIGO.

Look, when I say this, I am nowhere near excluding myself. I hold myself accountable to all the stupid actions. I was fired from my previous job (regional retail chain) because I stole from them. Why did I steal from them? Because I hated my job so much, and I was a gullible guy, so when my co-worker suggested the scheme, I happily obliged. Now, we can try to excuse my actions by saying that it wasn't entirely my fault because I hated the place I worked for and I was easily sucked into it because I was gullible. I realize you admit that I still made the bad choice, but are you going to lessen the blame on me because of the "underlying reasons"? You shouldn't.

NOTE: I am not presenting curiosity as an excuse to do something but as a natural human reaction that has to be dealt with before making a personal decision.

How can I lessen the blame? It will be illogical and rapists can partly rely on the "it was my dick" defense argument.

I am not liberal BTW...I refuse to be in any fucking bandwagon.

Fine, sorry, "lessen the blame".

I realize to disregard the power of curiosity is absurd, but why bring it up if not to lessen the blame of the "victim"?

Edit: Also, I have experienced curiosity pushing me to click on a link I knew better than to click. If a person plays to my curiosity and gets entertainment out of my lack of self-control, then I'm to blame.

Fine. Cool...I get ya.

I only brought it up because I thought you were disregarding it completely by saying "I don't give a fuck what curiosity does." That's why.

My fault but I thought you were completely ignoring human emotion.

I haven't been following your argument, but:

Acting on Curiosity = Purposely and distinctively preforming

It doesn't matter your level of curiosity, you still need to put in the work to do what ever your curious about.

You see a box, and think: "Hey, I wonder what is in that box." Than you go and open it. You purposely act upon the box to open it, requiring your own conscious to do so.

Curiosity isn't some form of mind control that makes you do things that you don't want.

Also, like I said above, I haven't followed much of the argument, so I have no idea who's side I took... or if any side..

TBH, there were no sides.

Both of us were saying the same thing but unfortunately, some people can only see in black and white. The moment I brought up curiosity, I was labeled by our well-educated political commentator Jball as a Liberal and from then on...all his arguments were misdrirected at a person who he thought was a Liberal but was not.

I have no stinking idea what a fucking Liberal is...I have rather liberal views but I am very practical about things. I NEVER said that and I believe curiosity is not an excuse in this situation. Read topic please.

I merely said that human emotion also played a part but NEVER said curiosity was a mind control that made the person do the deed. To assume that is what I was saying was purely ignorant and shows that some people need some basic analytical reading skills.

When he said "I don't give a fuck what curiosity does," and the way he wrote, it seemed to me that Jball was not acknowledging basic human emotion WHICH is the reason I started arguing and this whole dumb thread became serious. Well, he did clarify that later and I cooled off. Just more evidence that it helps to not be vague in the first place.

That's logic!

Oh, and my tirade on liberals, Starbuzz, wasn't really directed at you. It was just an observation I have on (too many) liberals (don't get confused with 'classic liberals' -- libertarian in US politics). It's just the whole "people are good, and only decisions are bad" ideology which rejects the idea of personal responsibility.
