http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/zap/awesome-red-alert-tesla-coil-makes-quick-work-of- allied-soldiers-318822.php

This guy spent the time to make little red alert units out of paper and glue then use them on his tesla coil, there are no special effects at all on this image, read the gizmodo post for full details.

Iv'e got the schematics!

Presence is a curious thing, if you think you need to prove it... you probably never had it in the first place.

My ass there were no 'special effects'.

You can actually see where it discharged itself into the tree above (purple glow), that guy being 'electrocuted' has been photoshopped and so has all the 'electricity dischargement'.

(PS. That's a Red Alert 2 model, not Red Alert.)

The guy being electrocuted is a cardboard cutout.
You can see it here

Those images were taken from a camera at the time it gave off the shock, the guy being shocked was actually a cardboard cut out painted and such, they just shacked him and got it at the right time, other than that, there are no special effects besides cardboard test dummies.

Here's where you're all forgetting, the first rule of electricity.

Electricity only takes the path of least resistance.

From that image, i can see 3 bolts coming from the tesla coil (yes, i know the one coming from the shock trooper is a seperate generator, i'm not talking about that).

1) The bolt going to the allied guy being fried.
2) The 'real' bolt going into the tree just above it.
3) The bolt going back, above the engineer, and then looping back around to the coil, that it seems.

Now try to tell me it hasn't been in Photoshop...

Exactly. It was a 17 second exposure with a wire leading the current to where he wants it.

Laws of electricity dictate that all electricity would flow along the wire then and you wouldn't even see sparks or very few.

Actually, the high voltage ionizes the air around it, ionized air has very very little resistance.

Because the high voltage will never build up because of the wire the air will never be ionised.

That's even an actual better excuse to prove it's been faked.

If the electricity ran down a wire to the 'allied guy', there'd be no sparks what-so-ever, at all.

Still doesn't explain the 'real' discharge into the tree above it (you can tell it's real because it's purple, which sparks of electicity are at night).

Viva la Resistance!
Did you even bother to read the linked page?

The guy strung the wire from the coil with gaps in - and then did a long exposure moving the gap.

Are you the same Merovingian as on the 4HV forum? You should know better if you are.

Sounds like you are making your accusations of fakery but have not even bothered to look at the site to understand how it was done. Maybe never even seen a Tesla coil. I have extensive explanations and diagrams on my site and about 1100 photos.

I will explain if you can't bother. There is no photoshopping at all. None. It is a single 17 second exposure that does have things that happen during that 17 seconds to give the effects.
It is not "down a wire". There is a wire with a 3 foot gap held together by fishing line that the sparks jump across. During the first 10 second this first wire with gap is pulled across the long spark distance of 22ft. The camera will pick up all sparks as the line travels the distance giving the appearance similar to a single spark.

After this efect is done then there is a similar line that is pulled from the Tesla trooper through to the lower toroid and on through to the shed to the right.
There is only ever one spark at a time.
The purple streamers are nowhere near reaching the tree.

So many things are happening during that 17 seconds and are the result of a lot of planning and 4 people doing stuff behind the scenes.

Do you understand?

TDU

That IS a REAL Tesla Coil.
Unless you think that the Tesla Coil in Red Alert/2 is a Real thing...

Tesla Coils work differently in real life than depicted in games (they were never meant to be weapons).

SHOPPED!

No I'm kidding. It's pretty cool...

It annoys me because people yell "SHOPPED" every single fucking time a cool picture comes up. It's even more annoying when they yell "SHOPPED" if the picture is obviously shopped.

Stop trying to act smart and making yourself look like some kind of superspecial detective. No one fucking cares if a image is shopped or not. The Tesla Coil thing is cool.
